Advanced Database Management
Advanced Database Management – will use the database design skills obtained in Database I to develop functional databases. The course will incorporate the creation of the database tables, programming database tables for data integrity, data input forms, methods for using data that resides in a database and discuss how to manipulate the database with procedures, functions, exception handling, cursors and triggers.
Course Competencies
Below is a list of just a few of the many course competencies gained through this course.
- Handle exceptions in PL/SQL programs
- Describe the method for propagating exceptions.
- Understand the advantages of user-defined functions in SQL statements
- Use conditional predicates in a DML trigger
- Create packages (e.g.: related variables, cursors, constants, exceptions, procedures, and functions)
- Invoke packaged functions from SQL
