ORACLE: Database Design & Managment
ORACLE, Database Management – ORACLE: will incorporate the Oracle Academy into the course. The Oracle Academy is designed to educate secondary students on the fundamentals of Database and Internet Technology as well as provide students with the necessary skills to pursue academic and professional opportunities. At the conclusion of Year 1 from the Oracle Academy , students will be able to program in SQL and be prepared for the SQL Programmer Exam.
Course Competencies
Below is a list of just a few of the many course competencies gained through this course.
- Distinguish between a physical and a conceptual database model.
- Illustrate business rules in an entity relationship model.
- Map advanced modeling concepts to tables.
- Demonstrate the use of ANSI joins (e.g.: cross joins, natural joins, right join, and left join)
- Manipulate tables using DML statement commands through a view.
- Define transation and transaction controls (e.g.: commit, rollback, and savepoint)
