CIW Web Technologies
Web Database and Programming Technologies will survey the technologies and the development tools used to create and interface with Web based databases. The course will focus on the knowledge and skills required to design and create relational databases used Access and MySQL and the knowledge and skills to interactively maintain and query relational databases using JAVA, JDBC and SQL. Additionally, the students will learn how to design and create interactive web pages using XHTML and to transform structured data into a variety of formats.
Course Competencies

- Identify appropriate audience, purpose, requirements, and production schedule for the project.
- Incorporate audio/or visual elements.
- Deliver a multimedia presentation, according to the prniciples of effective communication.
- Identify and comply with licensing agreements associated with desktop publishing, multimedia, and Web creation software.
- Investigate security issues related to technology.
- Develop a plan for posting, updating, and maintaing a secure Web site.
